Water cutting

Etra Water Cutting produces 2D products from rubber, plastic, and metal. Our water cutting services are available for single items and larger quantities. Our production facilities feature several pure waterjet cutters and one abrasive waterjet cutter, which is used on thicker and harder materials. Water cutting is a great method for cutting various materials as it does not damage or alter the material of the piece. Cutting tolerance is 0.1–0.3mm in pure water cutting and 0.3–0.5mm in abrasive water cutting. The finished product is clean, so there usually no need for a separate finishing stage. Our common pieces includes jigs, stencils, and various machine parts. The routes for cutting the pieces can be drawn based on the customer’s drawings in e.g. PDF, DWG, or DXF formats, or based on a model. The pieces can also be laser engraved as requested.

Our water cutting customers are typically in e.g. process, paper, mining, food, and forestry industries, and ship and machine building. Water cutting delivery times are quick, urgent orders may be available even during the same day.

Advantages

  • Waterjet cutting allows production of almost any shape on the 2D level. In fact, the only limitation is the size of the waterjet cutting table.
  • Waterjet cutting is a quick, accurate, and cost-effective method.
  • In case of waterjet cutting, costly investments into tools or moulds are not required.
  • Especially in production of complex rubber parts, waterjet cutting is the superior manufacturing method.

Manufacturing technology

  • Pure waterjet cutting
    • Rubbers, plastics and insulating/padding materials
    • Table size 1500x6000mm or 2000x3000mm
    • Cutting tolerance ±0,1mm
    • Maximum material thickness up to:
      • rubbers and plastics, 10-30mm
      • insulation/padding materials, 150mm
  • Abrasive waterjet cutting (sand is added to water for increased cutting efficiency)
    • hard and thick materials (metal, plywood, hard plastics, thick rubbers)
    • table size 3000x4000mm
    • cutting tolerance ±0,5mm
    • maximum material thickness up to 100mm
  • Punching
  • Gluing
    • For example, production of large machine gaskets, if the gasket size exceeds that of the waterjet cutting table.
  • Laser marking
    • The products can be marked with the desired product number, text or logo, for example.
